Two ways roofers use it

Canvassing. A permit marks a street where a roof just failed. Roofs on a street tend to be the same age and to have taken the same hail, so the neighbours of a fresh job are the standard place to knock. The list tells you which streets, this week, with the house number.

Competitor intelligence. You can see which companies are pulling permits, in which ZIP codes, and at what job value. In Miami-Dade the contractor's name and phone are on the record. In Charlotte and Fort Worth there is no contractor field, but the job value is there, so you can see what the work is being written at.

Read a real one

Those are the real counts from the last 21 days of records. Volume moves with weather and with how fast each agency publishes. The sample pages are capped at 25 rows; a subscription is the whole week.

San Antonio's contact name is sometimes the roofing company rather than the homeowner; the city publishes one name field and does not say which it is. Fort Worth's records carry no issue date at all, only the date the permit was filed, so that is the date we show and the date we call it.

How it arrives

One email a week, one metro, plain text and a table. Nothing to log into.
The first few weeks may be sent by hand while the schedule settles. The content is the same either way.
Data is public records from each city or county. If an agency stops publishing or falls behind, the list gets shorter or older, and we say so rather than filling the gap.
No homeowner phone numbers, no homeowner email addresses. No city publishes them. The address and the owner name are what you get.

What this is not

An issued roof permit means the homeowner has already hired a roofer. These are not homeowners shopping for a roof, and nobody selling you this should call them leads.

That is exactly what makes the list work for the two uses above. A permit is a confirmed roof replacement at a known address on a known date — which is what you want when you are deciding what street to canvass, and what you want when you are tracking who is taking work off you and where. If you are looking for people who have not hired a roofer yet, this is the wrong product and we would rather you knew now.
